In 1989, Danny Koffman — Camano Island artist — designed the Flag of Peace and Freedom. Since then, his Flag has been flown in 32 countries and now flies on Camano atop Sandy Hill at Freedom Park, dedicated to his late wife. The Flag of Peace and Freedom carries a simple message: "...we all live under the same sky and we are all warmed by the same sun and we all marvel at the flight of the birds."
The full Sandy Hill installation — created by Danny Koffman as a unified gift to Camano Island — includes the Flag of Peace and Freedom, the bronze elephant Lisa, and the IMAGINE Circle mosaic.
